Isabella On Ice

So, my friend Tucker put up a lovely ice rink this year, and I've been having a great time there.  One evening, we had a skating parting--what a blast!  But, I've been spending time there by myself, just twirling on the ice and listening to Christmas music.  I'm amazed how much time passes while I'm skating--it's just so relaxing.  My rl hubby bought me a fantastic skating AO, so I've been doing some rather impressive spins and jumps.  Of course, I had to pick up some skating attire--you can't skate in just any old thing.  lol.  I only wish I could skate like that in rl.

And, of course, I'm showing off some new jewelry--I have to say that I really like this new set, and it's just perfect to make you feel like a princess on ice.  This is the new Isabella set from ELEMENTAL.  Each color set has a necklace, earrings, rings...and a TIARA, but you can choose only the pieces you like.  In the top photo, I have on the BLUES set, which includes this lovely amethyst, plus aquamarine, and the lapis lazuli shown in the photo below.  The second photo, above, shows the GREENS set, which includes this jade as well as a dark maw sit sit, and a green turquoise.  And, then, there is a REDS set (not shown), which includes ruby, carnelian, and red coral.  The ornate metal work also changes texture--you can choose dark gold, bright gold, silver, dark silver, or copper.

Well, it's back to the rink for me.  There's not much going on in sl right now, and I'm sure that means that everyone is having a great holiday.  Traveling, cooking, polishing things in preparation for visitors.  I know that's what I've been up to.  But, I think I'll take one more twirl before I get back to work.  Have a good one!

Circe's Jewels

Circe, Greek goddess of magic, daughter of Helios & Perse, exiled to an island for murdering her husband (wonder what he did?).  Here she is, searching the woods for herbs to use in her potions.  When I was a child, my school library had a huge book about gods and goddesses.  It was filled with beautiful pictures of the immortals, and I loved to check it out and look at those pictures.  I am still fascinated by the tales and enjoy designing jewelry that I think the goddesses might wear.  Thus, the frequent theme.

I think Circe might have worn this jewelry, so it is named for her.  The Circe Necklace & Earrings will look great with your fantasy or role play dresses, as well as with formal attire.  Just use your imagination!  Plus, it is texture changing so it will give you many options without taking up too much inventory space.
I'm wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Circe Necklace & Earrings.  Texture changing and available in 2 color sets--Classics and Brights.  Classics:  Malachite, Lapis, Garnet, Tiger Eye.  Brights:  Purple agate, Turquoise, Coral, & Peridot.  EJ mainshop:  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/bono/221/224/22.

To Be Fae, Or Not To Be Fae, That Is The Question

I just couldn't make up my mind in what order to put these photos.  I was really going for an elf/fairy theme to start with, but then I drifted off to the jewelry emphasis--which I suppose is appropriate for this blog.  I really like this set of jewelry, so I finally decided to move this photo to the top so you could get a good view--it's a close up shot of the new Sylvain Necklace & Earrings in gold with aquamarine stones.  There are two sets, both of which change textures to give you gold or silver, and a choice of 4 gemstones.  The aquamarine is in set #1, which also includes a green turquoise, amethyst (shown at the bottom), and a lovely coral.  Set #2 includes amber (shown in photo 2 and 3), a pretty blue abalone, gold agate, and jade.  See...I did start off with fairies and elves on my mind--even as I was building.

You can find both Sylvain sets at the ELEMENTAL JEWELRY mainshop:
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Belle%20Island/232/31/23
And, set #2 is on sale!

Yes, I have already started making adjustments so that it will be available for petite mesh avatars.  So, patience my little friends, just a few more tweeks and it will be out next week!  Petite me is very anxious to wear this one, so I'm sure there will be blog photos!

The Petite Princess Council Is In Session

If you drop into either ELEMENTAL or PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY right now, you will find a bunch of new crowns and tiaras.  What can I say?  I've been feeling like a princess, and evidently so have my friends.  Here you see me in the purple and my friend Princess Celeste in blue, and we are both wearing the new Petite Snow Queen Tiara, which  is available in 3 color sets--Bold colors, Light colors, and Opals.  They are all three silver because, well, snowflakes aren't supposed to be gold.  You can adjust the sizing for various brands of petite mesh avatars, and you can adjust the glow, shine, and full bright to your liking.
There is also a series of golden petite tiaras--the Petite Queen of Hearts tiaras, all of which feature a sparkly faceted gem shaped like a heart.  (You couldn't guess that, right?)  Below, I'm wearing the heart tiara as well as the Jehan Necklace & Earrings in blue.

Below is the Petite Queen of Hearts tiara in pink topaz along with the new Sasha necklace & earrings.

All of these tiaras are also available in standard sizing, but you'll have to go next door to the "big" ELEMENTAL JEWELRY shop for those.  There you will also find The Queen Eleanor and King Henry crowns.  If you are into royal role play, you will want to have a look at these.  And, that's right, I did make one to fit the gentlemen!  Actually, that was the first one I made.  Surprise!

Aurora Borealis Fantasy

Witches, and Goblins, and Elves....OH MY!!  lol.  Do I look like the wicked queen?  That's the look I was going for.  Role Playing is a popular activity in Second Life, and I have been convinced to give it another try.  I think we've established that I can't seem to stay in character, but my friends are very forgiving and have actually written my lapses into the modern world into my story line.  Above, you see a portrait of Tessa, Lady of Phantasia, in my tower at Kingdom Phantasia.  Born a princess and adored by my father, the King, I followed the footsteps of my mother to become a time-traveling sorceress--just can't help it, it's in the blood.  Thus, you never know how you will find me dressed, my speech patterns are at times odd, and there are also some interesting...technologies, music, and such to be found at Kingdom Phantasia.  I am sister to the recently widowed King, my brother Tucker, and have, due to my caring nature, stepped in as the Lady of the Kingdom--muahahahaha.  (My neice, Celeste, the Princess Royal, would have me insert here that I am a "good" sorceress and just hamming it up for All Hallow's Eve.  And it's true.)  None-the-less, Tucker has commanded me to keep my "activities" in my tower at Kingdom Phantasia, and he's assigned a Driad, whose name changes daily (hear that Rase?), to keep me out of trouble.  LOL.

Above, I am wearing a couple of beautiful dresses from the vintage room at Evie's Closet.  (I love Evie's Closet--thanks Evie!)  And I have on new jewelry from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--The Dark Aurora Necklace & Earrings.  Below, you will see the Light Aurora set.  Each set is texture changing, with 4 aurora borealis textures on the faceted gems, and 4 semi-precious stone textures on the beads.  The metal changes between silver and gold.  You can also play with the shine, glow, full bright, and transparency for lots of different effects.  The crown is part of the Crown Jewels of Phantasia set, which is not yet available but soon will be.

Ava Gets A Face Lift

A friend told me about Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, and I thought it sounded like fun.  So, even though this is my shop blog, I'm going to try to plug into the challenge as often as I can.  This week, the color is Tyrian Purple (http://lunajubilee.com/2012/08/12/52-weeks-of-color-challenge-tyrian-purple/).  I was working on an update for the Vintage ~ Ava jewelry, and I plugged in this tyrian purple sugalite to fit the challenge.   And what a good match for this beautiful fantasy gown from Evie's Closet!

TheVintage ~ Ava 2 jewelry comes in 3 metal choices--antique gold, bright gold, or silver.  Each set includes 10 stone choices that you can pick from an easy to use menu.  The menu also allows resizing, and you can add shine, glow, or full bright as well.  In the top photo, I'm wearing the antique gold set, and in the bottom photo, I have on the silver set with turquoise stones.  Other stones include black onyx, moonstone, rose quartz, ruby, purple sapphire (a more blue violet than the tyrian), emerald, lapis lazuli, and blue topaz.

This Petite Oracle Will Make You A Vision!

I love purple, and I'm so glad I bought this beautiful petite dress from Evie's Closet.  If you have a petite avatar, you really must go over to Evie's and have a look.  Everything is very beautifully detailed, and the textures are glorious.  I'm also very excited about the newest petite jewelry from PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.  The Oracle necklace & earrings is one of my big avatar favorites, and I can't believe that I was able to make it small enought for my petite avi.  You are going to love this one ladies!  It's a very ornate silver set with several stone choices--purple agate, above, green maw sit sit, below, blue lapis lazuli, and red ruby.

The green maw sit sit set is on sale this weekend in the 50L Weekend Deals--Petite Edition Sale.  The blue lapis lazuli set is on sale for 60L in the Petite Shopping Spree Sale.

Original post title, huh?  I'm back in my petite mesh avatar, and I'm wearing a new outfit that I just couldn't resist, along with my Petite Audrey Tahitian Pearls, earrings, and bracelet in green, from PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.  Here's a closeup:

The Petite Audrey Tahitian Pearls are available in several colors for petites:  Blue, green, pink, and violet.  If you look at the photo of the violet set below, you will see that I'm also wearing an extra pair of earrings, the Petite Crazy Daisy earrings.  They come in a fat pack with 4 sets of earrings, each with a different gemstone center--Orange Jasper, Green Turquoise, Blue Moonstone, and Pink Rhodochrosite.

Thoughts On My First Petite Mesh Avatar

I keep mentioning that I've been redesigning jewelry to fit petite mesh avatars, and you may have even seen some posts on other blogs featuring some of the new jewelry. Ta daaa! Here are some snaps of petite me.  I can't help but think these tiny avatars were just meant to be fairies, pixies, etc.--so that's what I'm going for.

This is the first set of jewelry that I redesigned for petite mesh avatars--the ELEMENTAL Petite Kaleidoscope jewelry set, with multi-colored semi-precious stones and a silver floral motif.  I like the earrings up on the tips of my little ears so they are more visible, but you could move them lower if you prefer that location.  I'm so cute!

(**Apologies in advance for my wordiness on this post--lots to say on this one.)
So, what do I think of the petite avatars?  I like them, but let me say that I've been stepped on a few times and once had a run in with a rather large cat.  Shame on you, kitty!  LOL.   It's great fun trying to make jewelry to fit petites.  But, I do quite a few texture changing pieces, and it is sometimes difficult to hit the earrings just right for the click.  I've found that the best way to get to the earrings is to angle my camera around behind the avi, zoom in, and then aim at the earrings.  This is true for clicking the texture changer, and it's true when you want to "edit" the earring and adjust placement.  I have not had this issue with necklaces.

The other issue with jewelry is that you usually can't just "wear" your necklace.  Most of the clothes for your petite avi will have things already attached to the chest area, so when you "wear" your necklace, part of your top vanishes.  Oops!  To work around this, simply "add" the necklace to your outfit rather than "wear".  You can also "add" extra earrings and wear more than one pair placed at different spots on the ears.

I have a few more shopping tips on clothes and hair below in the "I'm wearing" tab below.  You will need to be a very observant shopper to avoid some petite pitfalls.  In fact, I have placed my petite jewelry items in a separate shop to help shoppers avoid confusion.  (It's right next door to the mainshop!)

Slurl to PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY inworld:
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Belle%20Island/243/28/23

And brace yourself--you will have an interesting surprise when you switch back to your standard size shape.  You will turn into a big avi pretzel and think you've done something horribly wrong.  Don't worry--just relog and you will be fine.  However, I would suggest making the transition in the privacy of your own home. LMAO!

There is also a PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY satellite shop at The Petite Shopping Village:
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Silvercreek/15/168/141

I'm wearing:
Jewelry:  PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Petite Kaleidoscope Necklace & Earrings set in "bright".  (***Also available in "turquoise" if you prefer the classics.)
Avatar:  Mynerva petite mesh avatar made by Yabusaka--Cream. Purchased full price--is comes with the avi shape, skin, eyes, and a HUD to alter the colors somewhat.
Hair:  Wasabi Pill Monique Petite Mesh Hair--Blonds.  Purchased full price.  WP is making special hair just for petites. (***I have found that some of my regular size hair will downsize just fine--especially my Diva hair.  I've heard that Truth hair will downsize, but I haven't had much luck with it.)
Outfit & Wings:  Evie's Closet--Damselfly--Petites--Peridot.  (***Now, when you pop over to Evie's, be sure to notice that the petite items are on the low, round display.  This same outfit is on the wall right beside the petites.  I mistook the entire area for the "petite section", and purchased the "big" version thinking it was a petite outfit.  Had to go back and make a double purchase to get my petite decked out in green.  It's a bit confusing, and designers need to be extra careful with their signage so you know what is petite and what is not.)
Poses:  I'm sorry, I tried so many that I have no idea.  But my regular poses seem to work just fine with my petite avi.
Location:  PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY mainshop @ Belle Island in SL.
