To Be Fae, Or Not To Be Fae, That Is The Question

I just couldn't make up my mind in what order to put these photos.  I was really going for an elf/fairy theme to start with, but then I drifted off to the jewelry emphasis--which I suppose is appropriate for this blog.  I really like this set of jewelry, so I finally decided to move this photo to the top so you could get a good view--it's a close up shot of the new Sylvain Necklace & Earrings in gold with aquamarine stones.  There are two sets, both of which change textures to give you gold or silver, and a choice of 4 gemstones.  The aquamarine is in set #1, which also includes a green turquoise, amethyst (shown at the bottom), and a lovely coral.  Set #2 includes amber (shown in photo 2 and 3), a pretty blue abalone, gold agate, and jade.  See...I did start off with fairies and elves on my mind--even as I was building.

You can find both Sylvain sets at the ELEMENTAL JEWELRY mainshop:
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Belle%20Island/232/31/23
And, set #2 is on sale!

Yes, I have already started making adjustments so that it will be available for petite mesh avatars.  So, patience my little friends, just a few more tweeks and it will be out next week!  Petite me is very anxious to wear this one, so I'm sure there will be blog photos!

I'm Already Tired Of Snow!

You know, it's Christmas time, so I guess I should be posting some winter scenes for the season.  But, all I need to do is look out my rl window to see the white stuff, and I do like green places the best.  So, let's just close our eyes and pretend that I've taken a trip south for my holiday vacation!  HeHe.  Besides that, winter clothes don't really offer the opportunity to show off a fabulous pendant.  I picked up this great mesh top over at ColdLogic.  I don't really like mesh dresses, but I do like mesh tops if I can find one that really fits.  You have to adjust the placement of your jewelry just a bit or it will sink into the mesh, but I think it's worth it.  Here, let me give you a close up:

This is the Astra Pendant & Earrings from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.  The one shown above is the turquoise from the "Blues" set, silver or gold with 3 blue stone choices--it's texture changing, so no need to buy three.  There's also lapis lazuli and larimar in this one.  Below is the "Reds" set, shown with gold & coral, but also including ruby and rose quartz.  You will also find a "Greens" set with peridot, malachite, and a green turquoise, and a "Neutrals" set with moonstone, tiger eye, and slowflake obsidian.  Oh, and there's a slightly modified version available for my petite friends @ PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY!

Well, I'm off to finish wrapping some gifts.  Hop on over to ELEMENTAL to have a look at some of the new, and old, designs.  You're sure to find something to add bling to your holiday!

Tessa's Traditional Holiday

Don't you think that Christmas is a time for tradition and classics?  I'm at my friend Celeste's house admiring her Christmas tree and wondering whether any of those pretty gifts are for me.  Hmm.  Should I shake the largest one, or the smallest...

I'm wearing a very festive, red dress just right for my traditional holiday color scheme, and the Victoria Necklace & Earrings from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--a very classic design.  This jewelry comes in 4 color packs, the one above being the "Royals", which includes this vibrant red garnet and green tsavorite--perfect for my traditional holiday garb!  You can mix and match the stones--choose two colors, or go with all the same stone.  There are 4 stone choices in each pack, as well as gold and silver metal.  The other packs include "Pastels" (shown below), "Bolds", and "Neutrals".  All are available at the mainshop, as well as next door at the PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY shop.

Here are slurls to pop you right over to the shops:

Just A Bit Of Shopping

I just couldn't resist snapping this picture of me doing a bit of Christmas shopping.  From the looks of things, though, I think I need a warm coat--let's add that to Santa's list.  I'm a little behind in my blogging due to the Thanksgiving holiday, but I'm back now with some new jewelry items from ELEMENTAL.  In the photo above and at the bottom of the page, you will see the Sasha Necklace & Earrings.  Sasha has 4 texture changing medallions and 4 sets of stone beads to match.  The medallions are all the same motif, just in different colors.  I really like this burgandy one, which will look great with several of my winter outfits.  There is also a deep blue, a pretty teal, and an earthy brown included in the set--all very warm colors for cold weather.

This week's second new release from ELEMENTAL is the Jehan Necklace & Earrings, a texture changing set with 6 floral medallions and beads in 6 semi-precious stones--turquoise, purple, gold, pink, green, and a lovely periwinkle blue.  I've read that turquoise is going to be big in 2013, so you might want to start collecting some pieces now--for yourself as well as for holiday gift giving.

Long Ago & Far Away

That's right--I've acquired yet another new dress from Sn@tch.  Isn't it too cute?  I have a fat pack, so I'll get plenty of mileage out of this one.  And the colors are perfect for the new Caliana Necklace and Earrings, above, from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.  This is the set in purple, but it changes texture, so it's like a fat pack too!  There are six medallions and six semi-precious stones included, and it can be silver or gold.  The stones include blue, lavender, or peach moonstone, yellow sapphire, green turquoise, and pink rhodochrosite.  I really love vivid colors and geometric designs and this one really fits.

Here's another splash of color--the Rasine Necklace & Earrings in aqua.  This set is the same design as Caliana, but with six floral medallions in shades of yellow, purple, blue, red, aqua, and orange, plus stone and beads in blue chalcedony, turquoise, lavender sugalite, yellow aventurine, orange jasper, and fire agate.  You can find both Caliana and Rasine at ELEMENTAL JEWELRY:

Alimah Visits Japan

I took a walk at Edo Japanese Castle, a role play sim in SL.  Now, I don't know about the role play, and I was kind of glad there weren't many people around.  But it sure is a pretty sim, and I had a nice time looking around.  I'm wearing a new top I got at Sn@tch.  (I know, I get many things there.  Well, what can I say?  Those fat packs of cute tops are great for jewelry photos.  And, hey, they have a big sale this weekend, so run on over!)  I'm also wearing the Alimah jewelry set from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--there are 5 sets to select from, each with texture changing beads with 5 semi-precious stones to choose from, and 4 different ornamental beads (the large ones).  And, of course, you can make it silver or gold, resize it, adjust the glow, shine, etc.  Above, I'm wearing the Alimah "Neutrals" set in gold agate--this set includes blacks, whites, golds.

And here I'm wearing the "greens" set--it includes 5 different green shades like the blue-green amazonite above, but also emerald, and yellow-green peridot, etc.  And, oh, I do love purple.  The set below is purple agate, but there are 4 other purple shades as well.  When you pop into the shop, you will also find a blue and red set.  Something for everyone and every outfit.  Here's a slurl to the mainshop:

An Autumn Walk In The Misty Mountains

When the leaves start turning in autumn, it's time for a walk in the woods.  Don't ya think?  I popped over to Misty Mountain, a perfect spot for such an outing.  (Isn't that a song by Led Zeppelin?  Misty Mountain Hop?  It's a great song, if you've never heard it you should look it up on You Tube.)  I just bought the latest hair from Truth, and I had to show it off, plus this week's new release from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY, the Amanda pendants and earrings.  This jewelry is named after my friend Amanda (aka Susan Branch) because it just looks like something she might wear.  There are three sets--Blues, Greens, and Reds, each with a central color theme and a couple of analagous colors thrown in for contrast.  That's right, it changes textures, from gold to silver, and there are 5 stone choices in each set.  The stones can be all the same color if you're feeling monochromatic, or you can mix and match as you please.  The colors show up great over a black top, and the "Reds" set will look great for your fall outfits--there are some beautiful red and orangy colors included.

Here's a slurl to the ELEMENTAL mainshop:

Aurora Borealis Fantasy

Witches, and Goblins, and Elves....OH MY!!  lol.  Do I look like the wicked queen?  That's the look I was going for.  Role Playing is a popular activity in Second Life, and I have been convinced to give it another try.  I think we've established that I can't seem to stay in character, but my friends are very forgiving and have actually written my lapses into the modern world into my story line.  Above, you see a portrait of Tessa, Lady of Phantasia, in my tower at Kingdom Phantasia.  Born a princess and adored by my father, the King, I followed the footsteps of my mother to become a time-traveling sorceress--just can't help it, it's in the blood.  Thus, you never know how you will find me dressed, my speech patterns are at times odd, and there are also some interesting...technologies, music, and such to be found at Kingdom Phantasia.  I am sister to the recently widowed King, my brother Tucker, and have, due to my caring nature, stepped in as the Lady of the Kingdom--muahahahaha.  (My neice, Celeste, the Princess Royal, would have me insert here that I am a "good" sorceress and just hamming it up for All Hallow's Eve.  And it's true.)  None-the-less, Tucker has commanded me to keep my "activities" in my tower at Kingdom Phantasia, and he's assigned a Driad, whose name changes daily (hear that Rase?), to keep me out of trouble.  LOL.

Above, I am wearing a couple of beautiful dresses from the vintage room at Evie's Closet.  (I love Evie's Closet--thanks Evie!)  And I have on new jewelry from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--The Dark Aurora Necklace & Earrings.  Below, you will see the Light Aurora set.  Each set is texture changing, with 4 aurora borealis textures on the faceted gems, and 4 semi-precious stone textures on the beads.  The metal changes between silver and gold.  You can also play with the shine, glow, full bright, and transparency for lots of different effects.  The crown is part of the Crown Jewels of Phantasia set, which is not yet available but soon will be.

I'm No Cheetah!

I'm not a big lover of animal print, but I really like this dress from PurpleMoon, and I was able to get the mesh to fit well.  It was a group gift, and I think it looks fantastic with this new set of jewelry from ELEMENTAL.  This is one of the most versatile sets ever, The Natalie Beads & Earrings, lariat necklace with texture changing beads and ring, color change, and the now standard have-it-your-way glow, shine, full bright, and sizing.  There are 5 bead textures--animal print, gold/white, red, blue, and green--and 4 ring textures--gold, silver, crinkled gold, and crinkled silver.  If you choose the silver for the ring, you can then add color so that it matches the red, blue, or green beads.  Or, if you want, you could even make the beads a solid color and match them with the gold or silver rings.  Adding varying levels of shine and glow adds further options in the color range.  There are endless possibilities!

Here's the gold/white option with a shiny gold ring, which can be worn with so many colors--a truly classic look.  And below is the red/white bead with silver ring tinted red--won't it be perfect with a lovely red Christmas dress?  Or you could make the beads solid red and use the gold rings.

Flora

This week, I decided it was time to make something just for myself, and if everyone else like it, well that's just a plus.  So, it's back to my favorite filigree type design, with lots of texture changing choices.  The Flora Necklace & Earrings can be silver or gold, whichever you choose from the easy to use menu.  There are 2 sets, each with 4 stone selections.  Flora #1 has Lapis Lazuli (bottom), Chrysocolla (the beautiful aqua blue above), Chrysoprase (a vivid green), and Amethyst (shown in photo #3).  Flora #2 has Pink Tourmaline (below), golden Tiger Eye, green Malachite, and a medium Blue Chalcedony.  And, as with last week's release, you can set your preference for the size, shine, glow, and full bright--all from the same simple menu.

You can find all of these gorgeous items at ELEMENTAL JEWELRY mainshop:

Cross My Heart & Wait, Where's My Curio?

I found this very interesting sim with all sorts of good photo ops--Mysterious Dream.  I really appreciate it when some artistic soul creates a beautiful place in SL.  It is a much larger effort than most people might think, and make no mistake about it, it does take an artist.  Let's not even consider the real life expense of maintaining such a virtual masterpiece.  My thanks to Lillith Morgwain.

Now, for what I'm wearing.  You know this blog is mostly all about my jewelry, as well as showing off some pretty clothes, hair, skin, etc. that I pick up along the way.  I'm wearing a new release from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY called the Cross Your Heart Necklace & Earrings (the petite version came out last week), which will appear in the shop tomorrow evening.  This is a really pretty set made of silver, with 4 stone choices--purple sugalite, pink rhodochrosite, green peridot, and a stunning blue jasper.  The necklace & earrings will be sold as a set, so this jewelry is a real bargain @ 125L.  (Although, if you get over to the shop this weekend, you can grab some in the 60L Weekend Sale!)

What's that?  You see a really nice bracelet in the photos?  Yes, I had fun with this heart motif.  There is a matching bracelet for each stone choice, resizable and packaged with both left and right.  I don't tend to wear many bracelets, but I think I will wear this one.

Also in the photos, I'm wearing my standard Curio skin.  Speaking of Curio, I am very saddened to report that you currently can not purchase a Curio skin.  Gala Phoenix is in a legal dispute with another skin designer.  All I know about it is in this blog post--http://curioonline.org/2012/07/05/curio-news-release/.  Until now, I was unfamiliar with the other designer's work, but I've since looked, and she makes some lovely skins.  I think this is a very unfortunate state of affairs, and I'd like to make a few personal comments, so I beg your pardon for my wordiness in this post--and remember this is an editorial because I do not in any way know all of the facts.  First, I don't understand the legal aspects of this case, but I think it's unfair that the Curio skins have had to be taken off the market while the other designer's have not.  Second, I think it's EXTREMELY important that creative and intellectual works are protected.  I am acutely aware that there are thieves all around us who would think nothing of stealing our work.  So, it's understandable that paranoia sometimes gets the best of us.  There have been times when I've noticed that immediately after one of my releases, another jeweler came out with a similarly themed item.  I always have to stop and remind myself that even though the theme may be the same, their product is much different.  Maybe I inspired them!  Or....maybe it's just a coincidence.  I would NEVER intentionally steal another designer's work.  In fact, I purposely try to avoid other sl jewelry shops in fear that I might subconsciously register a design and pull it out later--OR that someone might incorrectly assume that I'm there to steal ideas.  (Tangent--This happened to me once.  Sometimes, I very badly want to purchase another jeweler's product to wear, or maybe I'm doing a hunt.  I have no problem admiring, recommending, or wearing other people's jewelry.  I went to a jewelry shop for a completely innocent shopping mission.  Shortly after that, I was doing a hunt and found that I'd been banned from that sim.  Sad.  But, then, she doesn't know me.)  Third, there are only so many colors, notes, lines and curves to go around.  They are going to be used over and over by many designers and artists.  I am honest, and it's a shame I have to worry that someone might acuse me of stealing their work--but this incident has made me stop to think about that possibility.  My little SL shop is not my rl income source, it's what I do for fun, relaxation, and a creative outlet.  I don't think any big time designer is going to feel threatened by me.  I give away as much as I sell, and my goal is to just cover my SL expenses and enjoy seeing other people enjoy my jewelry.  I don't want it to invade my real life with unpleasantness.  But, I understand that for some designers, SL is a business.  Good luck to the judge who has to make a decision in this case--even I see similarities between the skins, but then aren't there similarities between ALL skins??  I hope everything works out for everyone, and that the judicial system is not as slow as usual, because I'm missing my Curio.  Big fan.  Really big fan.

As I'm sure you know, I'm a Truth Hair fiend, and you've caught me at the Truth District having a browse in the wee hours of the morning.  There is going to be a big anniversary sale, and much to my delight the Sea Hole already had their sale item out.  At 44L each, I had to buy this lovely top in several colors.  I'm also wearing a new item from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--the Splendor necklace & earrings, this time in silver.  The set I'm wearing above has really pretty light purple amethyst stones--perfect for my new top!  Here's a closeup:

The silver Splendor jewelry is available in several other stones--A lovely green beryl, aqua-ish chrysocolla, sky blue topaz, and peach moonstone.  And...the three colors shown in this post are all on sale this weekend!  You can get the necklace or earrings in your choice of stone for only 60L in the 60L Weekend Sale.

A Little Ray Of Sunshine

Once again, I am over at the Looking Glass sim--one of my favorite photo spots.  This is just one of many pretty spots.  I'm wearing a new mesh skirt I picked up at Purplemoon.  I don't think it's a secret that I'm not a huge fan of mesh clothes, but I like this skirt because of the variety of textures.  I'm wearing a new set of jewelry from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--the Sunray Necklace & Earrings in silver, which is sold as a set, so it's a great buy.  The stone selection includes yellow aventurine, pink tourmaline, blue chalcedony, and chrysoprase--another favorite of mine, both in sl and rl.

Run on over to ELEMENTAL while these pretty baubles are on sale--they are all in the 60L Weekend Sale!

There's Nothin' Like Wearing Your Favorites

Today, I'm exploring the Santorini sim, a beautiful replica of the rl Greek town.  This is a very lovely place with lots of nooks and crannies, romantic spots, and opportunities for dancing.  I'm wearing one of my favorite outfits from Zaara (I have many favorites from there), my favorite shoes from Enkythings, one of my favorite hairstyles from Truth, and the newest jewelry from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--the Sierra necklace & earrings in gold with Italian glass beads and green agate stones.  Here's a closeup so you can see the details:

It's also available in blue with blue chalcedony stones, and in red with fire agate stones.  And, all are only 60L this weekend!

Here's The Secret...These Blossoms Are Bewitched!

Just call me Samantha 'cause I'm feeling bewitched!  LOL.  Look at this gorgeous new dress from PurpleMoon.  I love it!  It's part of a new retro line, and you really must go have a look.  I had a difficult time making up my mind which color to buy, and I may yet go back for more.  Plus, I really needed something beautifully golden to wear with my new Bewitched Blossoms jewelry.  The set I'm wearing is yellow coreopsis--one of the newest releases at ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.

A couple of years ago (can't believe it's been that long!) I was taking some photos in my garden, and it struck me that the colors would be fabulous for jewelry.  So I played with it and came up with the Bewitched Blossoms jewelry concept--flowers encased in faceted, glowy gems.  At a distance, they look like beautifully colored, sparkly gems.  But if you zoom in, you see the stunning secret!

I love them all, but the pink orchid version below is my absolute favorite.  The original Bewitched Blossoms jewelry is being phased out, but it's all being replaced by updated items.  The textures have been improved, the design has been updated for better resizing, and the necklace is now layered with a semi-precious gemstone pendant.  You'll find lapis lazuli with the blue hydrangea necklace, yellow sapphire with the yellow coreopsis, and pink rhodochrosite with the pink orchid.

These three sets were in the 60L Weekend Sale for April 28, but since I'm late on my blogging I will leave the sale for a couple of extra days.  (I was late because I just opened a new shop--more later.)  Hop on over to ELEMENTAL JEWELRY  and get a set before the sale ends!
