Esperanza Goes To The Prom

Have you ever been accused of wearing clothes that were meant for someone far younger than yourself?  Well, I think I can safely confess that is true of the dress I'm wearing here--it's called "junior prom", which pretty much says it all.  Oh well, this is my SL, I can wear whatever I want!  I just like the pastel colors.

The jewelry I'm wearing is one of the newest items from ELEMENTAL--the Esperanza Necklace & Earrings.  Pictured is an example from each of the 4 color sets.  If you don't feel like pastels, there are darker, richer shades in each set.  The "Blues" set includes this clear blue Chalcedony, as well as a deep blue Lapis, and purple Charoite.  The "Greens" set includes the green Turquoise, above, plus a dark Malachite, and Jade.

"Reds", shown above--this pretty Rose Quartz, a red Jasper, and red Coral.  And show below, the "Neutrals"--Mother of Pearl (in photo), golden Tiger Eye, and Black Lace Agate.  The pictures were taken in the new ELEMENTAL mainshop building--you should go have a closer look.

Simone Enjoys The View

I've been reading travel blogs again and found this really lovely sim called Natural Mignon Colore.  I can't tell you how beautiful the landscape is, and how vivid the colors.  I'm still not finished exploring, so you can expect to see more later.  I crawled through one of those little doors that you see all over SL, and ended up in an art gallery with big, blue, glowing windows.  I'm wearing new jewelry from ELEMENTAL with which I'm very pleased.  This is a set called Simone, an asymmetrical design with beautiful semi-precious stones.  I especially like the blue Lapis Lazuli, above.

Here is the "Reds" Simone set, shown here with a deep red abalone and dark silver metal.  I think it looks nice with this red and black dress.  Below, is the "Greens" set with an especially pretty green turquoise.  You can find the Simone jewelry this week @ ELEMENTAL.  It's the new release, and it's all at fantastically low introductory prices.  The "Blues" set is in the 60L Weekend Sale, and the other pieces are 75L.  (Yes, I'm busy, as usual, and will no doubt leave it on sale all week!  lol.)  Be sure to stop by the ELEMENTAL mainshop--it's freshly remodeled!

Moonglow

I really enjoy looking at vintage jewelry.  I have to say that it's just...better.  The designs always look as though they've taken much time and thought, and yet they are simply elegant.  But, sometimes, it's the simplest designs and materials that catch your eye.  For example, have you ever noticed any of the plastic "moonglow" jewelry?  It's pretty much just simple beads, bangles, and such, and yet the gleaming colors make the jewelry special.

I've spent a good bit of time recently toying with textures trying to duplicate that "glow" effect.  I've made simple retro beads, classic button earrings and drop earrings in one set, and a single "cuff" bracelet plus a stack of bangles in another set.  Each set is texture changing, with 3 lovely shades in each.  You can mix and match the stack of bangle bracelets--all the same color, or all mixed up.  There is a very glowy set in primary colors--blue, red, and green (above), and a set with summer shades (below).  I like them all, but my favorite is the blue in the photo above.  Pop over to ELEMENTAL and have a closer look, and don't forget to pick up the current group gift and hunt gift for a matching set of jewelry!

I'm Wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Moonglow beads.  Earring set includes retro Button earrings plus classic Drop earrings.  Bracelet set includes a wide Cuff bracelet as well as a stack of Bangles.  There are 2 texture changing color sets--Set 1 with Blue, Green, Red; Set 2 with Gold, Aqua, and Melon.

Titania Is Ready For Spring

Well, it's officially spring time, and I think the weather gods are finally smiling on me.  For the past few weeks, I've been cleaning up my rl garden and watching all of the green things burst out of the earth.  The early spring flowers are already blooming for a hint of color.  This has put me in the mood for some jewelry inspired by nature, and Titania is the result.  This leaf motif jewelry can be worn with a casual outfit like the one in the photos, or it would look great in a role play setting--I'm visualizing elves and fairies. There are 4 color sets--one for each season of the year.  Above is the summer set, with bright shades of turquoise, blue, green, and red.  I've mixed up the leaf colors and stones, but you can adjust the textures so that the leaves or stones are all the same color.

Above is the spring time set with lighter shades of pink, green, blue, and lavender.  I found a lovely spot to relax over at the Santaurio sim.  This sim is gorgeous!  There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore and plenty of photo ops.  This little pond/garden is hidden in the center of the island, and it would be a fantastic place to hang out with friends...or a significant other.

Above is the autumn set with colors inspired by fall leaves--autumn green, gold, red, and purple.  I like those colors with the copper metal.  The winter set is not shown, but it contains the darker shades of winter--black, scarlet, teal blue, and emerald.

I'm Wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Titania Necklace & Earrings, available in 4 color groups--Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.  Each set is texture changing with 5 metals, 4 leaf colors, and 4 gemstones--which you can mix and match.

Skin:  League--Jen in pales.  Purchased full price.
Eyes:  Mayfly--Liquid Light Mesh Eyes--Absinthe.  Purchased full price.

Maerwyn Looks At Pixel Art

Once again, I'm behind on my posts--it seems to be the current theme.  On the bright side, I've settled into the new year and am feeling creative.  There's a new shop building in the future for ELEMENTAL, and lots of new jewelry.  I'm sporting a recent release called Maerwyn.  It looks just great with my casual wear, but I can envision it in an elven or fae setting as well.

You know what they say about all work...I took some time out to tour the Paper Observatory and felt like I'd fallen through a rabbit hole--very cool.  There are some amazing artists in SL, and it's truly is a shame that these pixels will vanish at some point without a trace.  What will be put in our art museums?  Seriously.

February is Valentines Day month, and you just have to have some hearts, right?  This month's ELEMENTAL group gift is a pretty onyx filigree heart pendant--just right for your valentine, but it can certainly be worn year round.  Pop over and pick up one for yourself--it's free for group members.  Coming soon:  Three new hunts and much more!

I'm wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Maerwyn Necklace & Earrings--texture changing and available in 3 color sets--Earth Tones (black lace agate, red abalone, blue jasper, purple fluorite), Brights (peridot, pink jasper, amber, lapis), and Florals (aqua, pink, green, and blue floral beads).

Sorcha Has The Blues

I have this fantastic new dress from Snowpaws!  It's such a beautiful blue color that I had to im Carrie and tell her how beautiful it is...and I've worn it for at least two weeks solid, maybe it's been three!  It goes great with this new set of jewelry from ELEMENTAL--I call it Sorcha, and it is packed with possibilities.  There is a set of three necklaces that can be worn separately or stacked together.  Each necklace has 17 different cord textures, 4 stone textures, 4 metals, and 16 bead textures to mix and match.  There are matching earrings, and bracelets.

You could wear one or two of the necklaces with jeans or a casual dress--the shortest necklace would look great as a single.  Or you could opt for earrings or bracelets alone if you were wearing a high neckline.
Set 1 includes stones of Lapis (shown below), a pretty green chrysoprase, black spiderweb obsidian, and red carnelian.  Set 2 includes turquoise, green jasper, purple sugalite (shown above), and red coral.

I'm wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Sorcha Necklaces, Earrings, and Bracelets.  Texture changing with two color sets from which to choose.
Hair:  D!VA--Astralia in black amber.  Purchased on sale @ Collabor88.

Isabella On Ice

So, my friend Tucker put up a lovely ice rink this year, and I've been having a great time there.  One evening, we had a skating parting--what a blast!  But, I've been spending time there by myself, just twirling on the ice and listening to Christmas music.  I'm amazed how much time passes while I'm skating--it's just so relaxing.  My rl hubby bought me a fantastic skating AO, so I've been doing some rather impressive spins and jumps.  Of course, I had to pick up some skating attire--you can't skate in just any old thing.  lol.  I only wish I could skate like that in rl.

And, of course, I'm showing off some new jewelry--I have to say that I really like this new set, and it's just perfect to make you feel like a princess on ice.  This is the new Isabella set from ELEMENTAL.  Each color set has a necklace, earrings, rings...and a TIARA, but you can choose only the pieces you like.  In the top photo, I have on the BLUES set, which includes this lovely amethyst, plus aquamarine, and the lapis lazuli shown in the photo below.  The second photo, above, shows the GREENS set, which includes this jade as well as a dark maw sit sit, and a green turquoise.  And, then, there is a REDS set (not shown), which includes ruby, carnelian, and red coral.  The ornate metal work also changes texture--you can choose dark gold, bright gold, silver, dark silver, or copper.

Well, it's back to the rink for me.  There's not much going on in sl right now, and I'm sure that means that everyone is having a great holiday.  Traveling, cooking, polishing things in preparation for visitors.  I know that's what I've been up to.  But, I think I'll take one more twirl before I get back to work.  Have a good one!

Carinna Travels Through The Haunted Valley

I've spent a bit of time this week trying to get into the Halloween spirit.  I dropped in at Haunted Valley, which is a very fun place to take some festive photos.  There are witches, ghosts, flaming lakes...things pop out all over the place!  In fact, I had a difficult time taking a couple of pictures because of some rather persistent goblins.  lol.  I have some great new hair from my favorite D!VA that I just had to show off. Also, this week's new release from ELEMENTAL is the Carinna Necklace & Earrings, shown in the top three photos.  This is a simple design that really shows off the pretty gemstones.

The very top photo shows the "greens" color set, which includes this very pretty turquoise, as well as malachite, green jasper, and chrysoprase.  Above, is the "reds" set--carnelian (shown), coral, red jasper, and ruby.  Below is the "blues" set--The really pretty blue jasper is shown, but there is also a purple sugalite, chrysocolla, and a blue agate.  The "neutrals" set is not pictures, but it includes a golden tiger eye, black coral, white opal, and amber.  That's right!  they change textures, as do most of the jewelry pieces from ELEMENTAL.  Metals in each set include:  Dark gold, bright gold, silver, dark silver, and copper.   (Do you sometimes get the feeling that someone is watching you??)

The bottom photo in this series is the last ELEMENTAL release, the Ravenna necklace & earrings.  Pictured here is the "Halloween Special" color set--Spiderweb obsidian, purple sapphire, fire opal, jack-o-lantern orange jasper, and blood garnet.  The gems are set in a "webby" setting that is just right for the season.  But, there are 3 other color sets that will look great no matter what the season.  (Whoa!  I have a chill.....like maybe someone just walked over my grave...hehe.)

Cleo Relaxes At The Lake House

Today, I decided it was time to take a break and just relax a bit.  I've made myself this little house on the lake with a huge porch on which my friends and I can sit and chat--probably my favorite SL activity.  I'm still wearing my new D!VA hair because the soft curls are just fantastic, but a change in makeup was in order.  So, I've gone for a bit more eyeliner than usual, and I think it makes for a good look.  This inspired me to work on some jewelry with a retro twist--I'm calling it Cleo.

The Cleo Necklace & Earrings are available in 4 color sets, each with 4 metals and 4 stones.  These photos are just a few examples of the possible combinations in each set.  Look closely, and you will see the details on the metal beads.

Drop in to ELEMENTAL JEWELRY and have a look at the huge collection of jewels!  There are always hunt gifts to be found, as well as group gifts, and there is a petite jewelry shop next door.  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY mainshop

Portia In Blue

A while back, I picked up this beautiful cornflower blue dress at ColdLogic, but I just didn't have any accessories and hair that I thought matched.  Recently, I purchased this very 1920's hair and it looks great even if the dress isn't styled after that era.  I love the soft brunette color.  The jewelry is a recent release from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY called Portia, which features a "love knot" type design with a center gemstone.  There are 4 different color sets available, and I found a stone in each set that I thought looked great with the dress.  Of course, the "Blues" set was the best match and is pictured above with a blue agate.  The "Blues" set also includes a classic blue turquoise and a darker blue jasper.

Here is one of the choices in the "Greens" set--an interesting green turquoise, which I paired with the "copper" metal.  Other stone choices include a yellow-green peridot, and a malachite.

The "Neutrals" set includes this moonstone, which has enough blue in it that it looked really nice with the blue dress.  This set also includes a black jasper (You can never get enough black!) and dark amber stone that will look lovely with your autumn styles.  Below, is the "Reds" set with a coral stone--also includes a ruby and a pink opal.

Yasmine In The City

I stopped in at the Flawless sim to check out the new Designer Showcase lineup, and found that the sim has been redesigned.  This seems to happen often, but I'm hoping that the current design will last a while because I really like it.  It looks like a very elegant city shopping district.  I took the opportunity to take some photos of my new jewelry--the Yasmine pendant and earrings from ELEMENTAL.

There are two sets--one with decorative beads and one with solid beads.  Each set includes 4 gemstones and 4 matching beads, plus 4 metal shades--dark and light silver or gold.  The textures change with an easy to use menu.  In the top two photos, I'm wearing the "Classics" set, which includes red jasper, a really nice purple agate, spiderweb obsidian, and turquoise.  Below is the "Bolds" set, which includes pink jasper, a deep blue jasper, green maw sit sit, and purple sugalite.  My personal favorite is the "Classics" set because I really like the geometrically patterned beads.

Twyla In The Kingdom Of Caprica

Have you ever been taking photos, really concentrating, and suddenly you realize that you have an audience?  Well, that happened to me the other day when I was at Caprica taking these photos.  Lol.  It's not the first time.  Sometimes, it's a real problem, because the on-lookers don't realize that you are taking photos and get in the way of your shot.  (Well, I'm giving them credit for not doing it intentionally.  But, sometimes you do wonder.)  Usually, if you ask nicely, they will move.  Here, I'm modeling the new Twyla jewelry from ELEMENTAL.  Above, is my favorite version--gold with beautiful Turquoise stones.  The necklace is a collar type design with twisted wire accents, great accessory for a low neckline.  What a statement!

The jewelry is texture changing!  You get 4 metal choices and 3 stones in each set--Blues, Neutrals, Reds, & Greens (not shown).  The Blues set includes Turquoise, Azurite, and Sugalite.  Neutrals--Black Lace Agate, Amber, Topaz.  Reds--Ruby, Fire Opal, Red Jasper.  Greens--Malachite, Maw Sit Sit, Green Jasper.  You can have a closer look at the ELEMENTAL JEWELRY mainshop in SL.  The jewelry is also available in a petite version, for Petite Mesh Avatars, next door at PETITE ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.

Rodvik & I Tour SL Castles

I really enjoy reading Strawberry Singh's blog, and her photographs inspire me to improve my photography skills.  Lately, Berry has been doing "memes" and challenging her readers to repeat them in their blogs.  Well, I have been sorely tempted, but I have resisted because my blog is mainly for business.  However, it's ok to actually enjoy your work, right?  And ELEMENTAL is something I do for pleasure, not profit.  So, wouldn't it be ok for me to do a meme?  (That's your cue.  This is where you say:  "Certainly, Tessa!  You can take some fun photos and still include some new jewelry!")  Well, this week Berry's meme is called "Flat Rodvik" and it is just too hysterical to pass up.  Berry has taken a picture of Rodvik Linden (CEO of Second Life) and made a full size "Flat Rodvik" for us to escort around the SL grid.  (Here's a link to her post:  http://strawberrysingh.com/2013/07/29/flat-rodvik-linden-meme/)

I met Flat Rodvik yesterday, and I took him on a whirlwind SL castle tour.  Above, we are posing on the veranda of a lovely castle at Wizardhat Studios on the Rati dAlliez sim, overlooking an ocean view.

In the middle photo, Rodvik and I are in the throne room of a castle at the Kingdom of Orlais on the Airys Beach sim, a role play area with a medieval/fantasy theme and lots of nooks and crannies to explore.  I tried to get Rodvik to participate in the role play, but he just stood there.  I guess he's just not into it.

For our final stop, Rodvik and I went to Sourthern Heart on the Momenti Rubati sim.  Rodvik and I had such a great day!  I know Rodvik didn't really want to look at old castles.  He was just doing it to make me happy.  Rodvik is such a "stand up" kind of guy!  LOL.

I'm wearing:

Darla Goes To The Beach

I found an interesting place to snap some photos--Trailer Park.  But don't let the name fool you.  There are lots of different "scenes" that make a good background.  I have on yet another new hairdo from D!VA.  This one is called Ange and you can wear it with flowers and with long tresses that hang over the shoulders in front.  I, of course, detached the long hair in favor of the up-do so you could see my new earrings.  The jewelry is called Darla and it's from ELEMENTAL.  I like the shiny woven metal cord and metal beads, which can be either gold or silver.  There are 2 stone choices in each set, and you can change the texture so that you have all of one color, or you can mix them.

Each set is shown here in the post.  At the top, you have a pretty aqua jasper with coral--I like those colors together.  Then, there is a black jasper with red abalone, amethyst with green garnet, and at the bottom is the blue jasper and chrysocolla set.

Here's a slurl to ELEMENTAL JEWELRY in SL:

It's Roxanne--Not The One In The Song

Actually, I went to high school with a girl named Roxanne, and I always thought it was a great name.  I feel really pretty today.  I have some great new D!VA hair, and a beautiful mesh top from Maitreya, plus some fabulous new jewelry from ELEMENTAL.  I really like this set--and it's called Roxanne.  The jewelry features a faceted teardrop gem with filigree and texture changing semi-precious stones to coordinate or contrast with the main stone.  In each set, there are 4 stone textures from which to choose, which gives lots of wardrobe variety.  You can also make it shiny silver or gold, whichever suits your fancy, or even a darker silver if your mood is dark.  In the top photo, I'm wearing the emerald set and below it's the ruby.

Oh, and those aren't backdrops you see in the photos.  It's art!  I popped into the Surreal Effects Art Gallery to check out the exhibit and thought it would be a great background for my photos.  The art is done with animated light effects and is quite beautiful to wander through.

If you'd like to see the other stone choices in the Roxanne collection, pop over to ELEMENTAL JEWELRY and have a look in the "New" section up front.  Here's a slurl:
