Danaria Goes GoT

Although I have not participated in any Game of Thrones roleplay in SL, I have to confess that I am a huge fan of the HBO series.  I can't get enough of the outstanding costumes.  So I started looking around, and I found that there are several talented SL designers who have made some great outfits inspired by GoT.  To date, the above dress is my absolute favorite.  This is "Dany" from FATEplay.  Damien Fate has outdone himself with this one.  You just have to try it on to see the fine details and great fit.  My shape is set to be a perfect "medium", and this dress is just right--plus, it "moves" well and without any distortion.  I've been wearing it for a couple of weeks now, and find that it works well not only as a costume, but as a "regular" dress with nice heels.  Having been inspired myself, I made a new jewelry set called Danaria--something I could envision being worn by Daenerys, Khaleesi and Mother of Dragons.

The necklace is a "statement", somewhat tribal, collar necklace featuring a row of metal rings along the front, plus a prominent, very beautiful stone setting.  As usual, the jewelry is texture changing.  There are 6 metals, 9 rings (both plain and floral in various metals), 9 "dragon scale" textures for the stone backing, and 4 gemstone textures from which to choose in each of 4 color sets.  Each of the color sets includes a serpentine stone selection.  Some people refer to serpentine as "dragon stone", so it seemed appropriate for the theme.

Here are examples of the Danaria green and red color sets.  Below is another Daenarys costume found at !gO!, where you can find several GoT outfits.  Very nice work.

And last, but not at all least, below is the Danaria Neutral set, shown here in silver/gold with a golden serpentine stone.  The outfit is a lovely modern pants set, and you can see that the jewelry is timeless, looking great for roleplay as well as everyday wear.

The Mers & Me

A few weeks ago, Theta Cooperstone (Marseille) sent me a note saying that she (with help from the Ever Dream Modeling Agency) was planning to do a Fantasy Fashion Show featuring primarily mermaids.  She wanted to know if I'd be interested in providing jewelry for the models.  Now, I've always enjoyed stories about mermaids, but I've never met any mers in SL, so I popped over to Theta's shop to have a look.  Wow!  I was blown out of the water (hehe).  Such beautiful outfits!  I immediately said that I would love to participate.  I asked Theta what type of jewelry mermaids prefer to wear, and she said, "Well, first and foremost, we are girls, so we enjoy wearing the same type of jewelry any girls enjoy."  So, there you have it.  I did notice, however, that mers are really good with makeup--look at the colorful designs.

Well, today was the big day.  Theta graciously sent me a mermaid outfit, which I tried my best to wear for the occasion.  Surely, there is a class somewhere in SL regarding how to best wiggle into a mermaid tail.  If not, there should be, because I was not successful.  I decided they would just have to take me as I am...and they did.  Mermaids are lovely, friendly folk.

Speaking of lovely, here are some photos from the show.  I am not able to identify anything but the models and the jewelry, other than to say that the outfits are from Mermaid Treasure & Boutique.   Here is the roster:  In photo #1, you will see Aradia Mistwood wearing Ravenna (Halloween special edition) necklace & earrings.  Kaciee Resident is shown in photo #2 wearing the Sorcha (Set 1) necklace & earrings.  In photo #3, above, is Hexe Jie wearing the Galena (Set 2) necklace & hairband.  I'm not sure whether she is wearing the matching earrings or not--that's a lot of pink hair.

Above, in photo #4 is Serenity Couerblanc wearing the Isabella (Greens) necklace, earrings, ring, and tiara.

In photo #5, you will see Memory Thorne also wearing the Ariadne (Golds) necklace, earrings, & tiara.  Below is Zuzana (Zuzanar) Resident in the Ophelia 2 (Greens) necklace & earrings.

Last, but not least, in photo #7, is Trinity Aeronaut in the Light Aurora necklace & earrings.

All of the jewelry is from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.  It's all texture changing, with several metal and stone choices in each set.  Once again, I believe that all of the outfits are from Mermaid Treasure & Boutique.    Thank you to Theta Marseille, and to all of the elegant models! I had a great time watching the show.  (Be sure to check out Theta's blog--it's posted in the blog roll on the right.)

Esperanza Goes To The Prom

Have you ever been accused of wearing clothes that were meant for someone far younger than yourself?  Well, I think I can safely confess that is true of the dress I'm wearing here--it's called "junior prom", which pretty much says it all.  Oh well, this is my SL, I can wear whatever I want!  I just like the pastel colors.

The jewelry I'm wearing is one of the newest items from ELEMENTAL--the Esperanza Necklace & Earrings.  Pictured is an example from each of the 4 color sets.  If you don't feel like pastels, there are darker, richer shades in each set.  The "Blues" set includes this clear blue Chalcedony, as well as a deep blue Lapis, and purple Charoite.  The "Greens" set includes the green Turquoise, above, plus a dark Malachite, and Jade.

"Reds", shown above--this pretty Rose Quartz, a red Jasper, and red Coral.  And show below, the "Neutrals"--Mother of Pearl (in photo), golden Tiger Eye, and Black Lace Agate.  The pictures were taken in the new ELEMENTAL mainshop building--you should go have a closer look.

Simone Enjoys The View

I've been reading travel blogs again and found this really lovely sim called Natural Mignon Colore.  I can't tell you how beautiful the landscape is, and how vivid the colors.  I'm still not finished exploring, so you can expect to see more later.  I crawled through one of those little doors that you see all over SL, and ended up in an art gallery with big, blue, glowing windows.  I'm wearing new jewelry from ELEMENTAL with which I'm very pleased.  This is a set called Simone, an asymmetrical design with beautiful semi-precious stones.  I especially like the blue Lapis Lazuli, above.

Here is the "Reds" Simone set, shown here with a deep red abalone and dark silver metal.  I think it looks nice with this red and black dress.  Below, is the "Greens" set with an especially pretty green turquoise.  You can find the Simone jewelry this week @ ELEMENTAL.  It's the new release, and it's all at fantastically low introductory prices.  The "Blues" set is in the 60L Weekend Sale, and the other pieces are 75L.  (Yes, I'm busy, as usual, and will no doubt leave it on sale all week!  lol.)  Be sure to stop by the ELEMENTAL mainshop--it's freshly remodeled!

Moonglow

I really enjoy looking at vintage jewelry.  I have to say that it's just...better.  The designs always look as though they've taken much time and thought, and yet they are simply elegant.  But, sometimes, it's the simplest designs and materials that catch your eye.  For example, have you ever noticed any of the plastic "moonglow" jewelry?  It's pretty much just simple beads, bangles, and such, and yet the gleaming colors make the jewelry special.

I've spent a good bit of time recently toying with textures trying to duplicate that "glow" effect.  I've made simple retro beads, classic button earrings and drop earrings in one set, and a single "cuff" bracelet plus a stack of bangles in another set.  Each set is texture changing, with 3 lovely shades in each.  You can mix and match the stack of bangle bracelets--all the same color, or all mixed up.  There is a very glowy set in primary colors--blue, red, and green (above), and a set with summer shades (below).  I like them all, but my favorite is the blue in the photo above.  Pop over to ELEMENTAL and have a closer look, and don't forget to pick up the current group gift and hunt gift for a matching set of jewelry!

I'm Wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Moonglow beads.  Earring set includes retro Button earrings plus classic Drop earrings.  Bracelet set includes a wide Cuff bracelet as well as a stack of Bangles.  There are 2 texture changing color sets--Set 1 with Blue, Green, Red; Set 2 with Gold, Aqua, and Melon.

Titania Is Ready For Spring

Well, it's officially spring time, and I think the weather gods are finally smiling on me.  For the past few weeks, I've been cleaning up my rl garden and watching all of the green things burst out of the earth.  The early spring flowers are already blooming for a hint of color.  This has put me in the mood for some jewelry inspired by nature, and Titania is the result.  This leaf motif jewelry can be worn with a casual outfit like the one in the photos, or it would look great in a role play setting--I'm visualizing elves and fairies. There are 4 color sets--one for each season of the year.  Above is the summer set, with bright shades of turquoise, blue, green, and red.  I've mixed up the leaf colors and stones, but you can adjust the textures so that the leaves or stones are all the same color.

Above is the spring time set with lighter shades of pink, green, blue, and lavender.  I found a lovely spot to relax over at the Santaurio sim.  This sim is gorgeous!  There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore and plenty of photo ops.  This little pond/garden is hidden in the center of the island, and it would be a fantastic place to hang out with friends...or a significant other.

Above is the autumn set with colors inspired by fall leaves--autumn green, gold, red, and purple.  I like those colors with the copper metal.  The winter set is not shown, but it contains the darker shades of winter--black, scarlet, teal blue, and emerald.

I'm Wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Titania Necklace & Earrings, available in 4 color groups--Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.  Each set is texture changing with 5 metals, 4 leaf colors, and 4 gemstones--which you can mix and match.

Skin:  League--Jen in pales.  Purchased full price.

Blue Lily

Well, it's Friday night, and I'm out with my friends for some dancing.  I have on some great new pants from my favorite Sn@tch, and I finally broke down and bought some Slink feet.  I was really having problems fitting the newer mesh items from Sn@tch and even sent a note to the designer asking for fitting tips.  I'm not sure if the sizing is now standardized or what, but suddenly they are just perfect. Yay!  As for my feet--I didn't think I'd ever buy mesh feet.  I always wear shoes in SL, so why bother, right?  Well, I should have known that eventually there would be shoes made to fit your mesh feet rather than having to match up the ones with shoes and feet combined.  These are great, and I am very happy with them.

My jewelry is the new Lily pendant, earrings, and bracelets from ELEMENTAL JEWELRY.  Here, I am wearing the blue set, which includes 5 metals and 4 blue stones--Blue Jasper (shown here), Sodalite, Sugalite, and Blue Moonstone.  There are three more color sets--Reds (Carnelian, Ruby, Red Jasper, and Rose Quartz), Greens (Chalcedony, Tsavorite, Peridot, and Malachite), and Neutrals (Amber, Abalone, Opal, and Spiderweb Obsidian).

Also new from ELEMENTAL is the newest special edition jewelry set--the Bianca Necklace and Earrings in Red Jasper with texture changing metal in either gold or silver.  You can find the Bianca set @ Designer Showcase during the month of March.

Maerwyn Looks At Pixel Art

Once again, I'm behind on my posts--it seems to be the current theme.  On the bright side, I've settled into the new year and am feeling creative.  There's a new shop building in the future for ELEMENTAL, and lots of new jewelry.  I'm sporting a recent release called Maerwyn.  It looks just great with my casual wear, but I can envision it in an elven or fae setting as well.

You know what they say about all work...I took some time out to tour the Paper Observatory and felt like I'd fallen through a rabbit hole--very cool.  There are some amazing artists in SL, and it's truly is a shame that these pixels will vanish at some point without a trace.  What will be put in our art museums?  Seriously.

February is Valentines Day month, and you just have to have some hearts, right?  This month's ELEMENTAL group gift is a pretty onyx filigree heart pendant--just right for your valentine, but it can certainly be worn year round.  Pop over and pick up one for yourself--it's free for group members.  Coming soon:  Three new hunts and much more!

I'm wearing:
Jewelry:  ELEMENTAL JEWELRY--Maerwyn Necklace & Earrings--texture changing and available in 3 color sets--Earth Tones (black lace agate, red abalone, blue jasper, purple fluorite), Brights (peridot, pink jasper, amber, lapis), and Florals (aqua, pink, green, and blue floral beads).

Sorcha Has The Blues

I have this fantastic new dress from Snowpaws!  It's such a beautiful blue color that I had to im Carrie and tell her how beautiful it is...and I've worn it for at least two weeks solid, maybe it's been three!  It goes great with this new set of jewelry from ELEMENTAL--I call it Sorcha, and it is packed with possibilities.  There is a set of three necklaces that can be worn separately or stacked together.  Each necklace has 17 different cord textures, 4 stone textures, 4 metals, and 16 bead textures to mix and match.  There are matching earrings, and bracelets.

You could wear one or two of the necklaces with jeans or a casual dress--the shortest necklace would look great as a single.  Or you could opt for earrings or bracelets alone if you were wearing a high neckline.
Set 1 includes stones of Lapis (shown below), a pretty green chrysoprase, black spiderweb obsidian, and red carnelian.  Set 2 includes turquoise, green jasper, purple sugalite (shown above), and red coral.

I'm wearing:
