Little Big Shop Event Coming Soon to Second Life

One of the events in which I am currently participating is the Little Big Shop Event, a charitable endeavor to benefit The Water Project.  The Water Project brings water to communities that lack a clean drinking water supply.  The concept of the Little Big Shop Fair is that less experienced Second Life busniess owners are paired with more experienced SL business owners and they work cooperatively to make products to sell at the fair.  Each participant must produce 2 exclusive fair items, one of which is sold with 100% of the profits donated to The Water Project.  In the process of working cooperatively, the less experienced "Small" designer is mentored by the more experienced "Big" designer, learning valuable entrepreneurial and building skills.  What an opportunity!  And what a generous gift from the "Big" designers!

I am a "Little" designer since my shop is new, and I have been paired with Faery Sola of Studio Sidhe.  (That's Faery dancing her booty off at Moonsong, home of Studio Sidhe.) Faery has been the greatest mentor ever.  She has patiently taught me how to improve my textures, has bought me tools that she thinks are a must, and has given me fantastic advice on operating a business in SL.  Thanks Faery, you're the best!

The Little Big Shop Fair will be held April 15 to May 15, 2011, and is being organized by Yasmino GossipGirl and Tala Swan.  Photos of the items that Faery and I made will follow in the next post.  And let me just say that they are fantastic!

Precious Pizzazz For One Night In SL

Here is my friend Portia Ysabel wearing the ELEMENTAL JEWELRY Precious Pizzazz Necklace and Earrings.  This interesting set is gold with bunches of texture changing stones in lapis lazuli, red coral, turquoise, amethyst, malachite, or goldstone.  I've left the stones individually changable so that you can have them all one texture, or mix them up.

By the way, Portia--and friend--are trying out the latest hunt gift from METAPHYSICAL MERCANTILE on Belle Island, the @Meta Couples Floor Pillows.  This gift is set for the upcoming One Night In SL Hunt, which starts on April 8, and is being organized by Spooky Mistwallow and Lynn Pooley of Kastle Rock Gridwide Hunts.

Portia is also wearing:
Zane Sweater in cherry, from Mischief.
Up or Down Skirt in onyx, also from Mischief
(Alas, Mischief, one of my very favorite shops, is no more. But, owner Janie Marlowe now has a new shop, JANE, located at Zyrra.)

Bettie, Bettie, Bettie

Well, I have been getting tons of compliments on one of my new outfits!  Isn't that fun?! I found a wonderful shop called 1-800-Bettie's Vintage and Retro Clothing, located on MonkeyLick Island.  Bettie's had a huge sale--everything in the shop for L$10--Thanks Bettie!--so I bought a bunch.  Here I am wearing one of my favorites--Bettie's Summer Polka cocktail dress in blue.

I'm also wearing a new ELEMENTAL JEWELRY item--the Crystal Sphere Necklace & Earrings.  I really like this set--shiny silver triple links, with texture changing crystal beads in blue, green, quartz, and liquid crystal.  I think Bettie and ELEMENTAL look great together!

And here is a close-up so you can see the pretty crystal beads in all of the colors:

April Fool! And More...

Everyone knows that I love a good hunt....On April 1, there will be 2 new hunts at Elemental Jewelry!  The first one is the APRIL FOOLS HUNT, organized by Phoenix Welles and Eclectic Dreams Hunts.  Now, this hunt has an interesting twist, as you might expect from the title.  At each participating shop, there will be not just one, but two or more hunt items hidden.  One of these items is a fool's gift, one is the real gift, and any others are decoys.  How fun!  I'll not show a photo of my hunt gifts--it's a surprise.

Also starting on April 1 is the UNKNOWN HUNT SPRING, organized by Evelyn Hartshon.  This hunt features new shops that opened after November 1, 2010--thus the "unknown" hunt.  For this hunt, the Elemental gifts include a woman's Lapis Lazuli & gold bracelet and a man's Engraved Metal & Raw Garnet Cuff--just to make sure the fella's don't get left out.  (These are resizable, though, so ladies if you like the cuff you can downsize it.)

Happy hunting at ELEMENTAL JEWELRY!

Feeling Elfish in Second Life!

OK, I'll admit it.  Sometimes I like to dress up like an elf or fairy.  Really, it's just that I have met some great people in SL who do the same.  One of my favorite SL fae places is the Faery Crossing, a beautiful group of sims where you can meet and interact with the fae and elven folk.  You can live there or just drop in for a visit.  The sim features the Plucked Wing Tavern and the Faery Market.  Every week there are regularly scheduled dances, a Bardic Circle where you can share stories, poems, and songs, contests, plus many more fun events.  And while you're there, if you need info or help, just look for a Merry Meeter.

I'm wearing:
Jewelry:  Elemental Jewelry Avalon Necklace and Earrings in Rhodochrosite and Gold
Outfit:  Elven Huntress from Mela' Ryn Fantasy Fashions at Isle of Light
Hair--Peta from Truth Hair at the Truth Hair Sim
I'm relaxing on:
A Leaf Chair from Unicorn Cheese Factory at Happiness

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

Well, I just want to show you my favorite set of jewelry--the ELEMENTAL JEWELRY SENSUOUS WIND NECKLACE & EARRINGS.  This is my "go to" set of jewelry because it just seems to match everything I wear.  Not only is it just pretty with all of it's swirly pieces--and those are all tiny prims, not alpha textures--but it's texture changing!  The beads change between LAPIS LAZULI, BLACK ONYX, AMETHYST, RED CORAL, AND GREEN TURQUOISE, (original stone textures, not just colors) or you can mix and match.  So it's like getting 5+ sets of jewelry for the price of one.  You can't beat that!  And the price is only L$300 at Elemental Jewelry.

Also pictured:  My favorite hair--"Lillian" by Truth Hair  (Yea Truth!!)
My favorite skin--"Leona" by Redgrave  (I am rarely seen without my Redgrave skin!!)
Shoes (although you can't see them well--sorry)--"Baba Yaga Zenobia" by Enkythings
Top--"Yauvani" by Zaara.  (The jeans are my favorite--also by Zaara.  OMG,
                                                                  I LOVE Zaara!)

OK, if you're all dressed up in your favorite things, you might as well do your favorite thing--DANCE!
Yea!  Here are some photos of me with my friend Kristine Kristan dancing to the music of yet another favorite--Hazideon Zarco, at the ChilBowl Bowling Alley and Live Venue in the Chilbo Community.
