New Group Gift at Elemental Jewelry!

Well, I've been agonizing over what to offer for an April group gift.  Then, my friend Azucena sent me a photo of herself wearing the Elemental April Fool Hunt gift--a malachite & gold pendant--along with a set of gold Elemental earrings.  That set the neurons firing!  She needed a pair of earrings to match the pendant.  So...Ta Da!  Come on down Elemental Jewelry Group Members!  Grab a pair of earrings and then find the April Fool Hunt prize.

The Little Big Shop Event starts today in Second Life!

I'm so excited!  The Little Big Shop Event is officially open for business on April 15, and here are photos of the projects that Faery Sola (my "Big Shop" mentor) and I collaborated on.  There is a Moon Necklace, below.  As well as matching Moon Earrings, and Faery's Moon Bracelet and Moon Anklets, pictured above, in silver, lapis lazuli, and glass beads.  Why Moon you ask?  Well, the theme of the event is water because this is a charity event to raise money for The Water Project, and the moon influences tidal activitiy...
(For details about The Water Project, see April 13 post.)

At the Event, each team has their own little shop set up to display their work, as well as additional items from their shops.  Here is a slurl to the event:

Little Big Shop Event Coming Soon to Second Life

One of the events in which I am currently participating is the Little Big Shop Event, a charitable endeavor to benefit The Water Project.  The Water Project brings water to communities that lack a clean drinking water supply.  The concept of the Little Big Shop Fair is that less experienced Second Life busniess owners are paired with more experienced SL business owners and they work cooperatively to make products to sell at the fair.  Each participant must produce 2 exclusive fair items, one of which is sold with 100% of the profits donated to The Water Project.  In the process of working cooperatively, the less experienced "Small" designer is mentored by the more experienced "Big" designer, learning valuable entrepreneurial and building skills.  What an opportunity!  And what a generous gift from the "Big" designers!

I am a "Little" designer since my shop is new, and I have been paired with Faery Sola of Studio Sidhe.  (That's Faery dancing her booty off at Moonsong, home of Studio Sidhe.) Faery has been the greatest mentor ever.  She has patiently taught me how to improve my textures, has bought me tools that she thinks are a must, and has given me fantastic advice on operating a business in SL.  Thanks Faery, you're the best!

The Little Big Shop Fair will be held April 15 to May 15, 2011, and is being organized by Yasmino GossipGirl and Tala Swan.  Photos of the items that Faery and I made will follow in the next post.  And let me just say that they are fantastic!

Precious Pizzazz For One Night In SL

Here is my friend Portia Ysabel wearing the ELEMENTAL JEWELRY Precious Pizzazz Necklace and Earrings.  This interesting set is gold with bunches of texture changing stones in lapis lazuli, red coral, turquoise, amethyst, malachite, or goldstone.  I've left the stones individually changable so that you can have them all one texture, or mix them up.

By the way, Portia--and friend--are trying out the latest hunt gift from METAPHYSICAL MERCANTILE on Belle Island, the @Meta Couples Floor Pillows.  This gift is set for the upcoming One Night In SL Hunt, which starts on April 8, and is being organized by Spooky Mistwallow and Lynn Pooley of Kastle Rock Gridwide Hunts.

Portia is also wearing:
Zane Sweater in cherry, from Mischief.
Up or Down Skirt in onyx, also from Mischief
(Alas, Mischief, one of my very favorite shops, is no more. But, owner Janie Marlowe now has a new shop, JANE, located at Zyrra.)

Bettie, Bettie, Bettie

Well, I have been getting tons of compliments on one of my new outfits!  Isn't that fun?! I found a wonderful shop called 1-800-Bettie's Vintage and Retro Clothing, located on MonkeyLick Island.  Bettie's had a huge sale--everything in the shop for L$10--Thanks Bettie!--so I bought a bunch.  Here I am wearing one of my favorites--Bettie's Summer Polka cocktail dress in blue.

I'm also wearing a new ELEMENTAL JEWELRY item--the Crystal Sphere Necklace & Earrings.  I really like this set--shiny silver triple links, with texture changing crystal beads in blue, green, quartz, and liquid crystal.  I think Bettie and ELEMENTAL look great together!

And here is a close-up so you can see the pretty crystal beads in all of the colors:
